Monitoring of protection schemes used in transmission systems used in transmission systems is a vital task, but one thatis often associated with complexity and inconvenience. To provide a complete and affordable solution to these issues, Programma is offering the new Freja 306 test set.
Readily portable and based ont he proved technology used in Freja 300 test sets, which are currently in use all over the world, the new model features extended three-phase testing capabilities, increased power output capacity and the ability to test differential relays.
A particular benefit resulting from the increased power output of the new model is that it offers a universal solution for testing both electronic and electromechanical relays.
Designed from the outset with ease of use in mind, the Freja 306 has an integral multi-line text display and an array of clearly labelled single function buttons to facilitate its use in stand alone mode. It is equally suitable however, for use in automated testing applications, when it is controlled by a PC running the powerful yet intuitive FrejaWin software package.
This versatile package offers a choice of instrument programs that are selected from an onscreen control centre, which is also used to save and display results. Since the test set-ups and results are handled via a standard Microsoft Internet Explorer display, it is easy for users to create their own test object structures.
The instrument programs provided by the FrejaWin software include a general application that allows the setting of generator parameters and ramp rates. Provision is also made for generation of harmonics up to the 25th. Also included int he FrejaWin package are a distance instrument program for testing distance relays, and a sync program for determining the voltage and frequency boundaries of synchronising relays.
Like the Freja 300, the new Freja 306 can also be used as a disturbance simulator in conjunction with the Freja Sim disturbance simulator software. This has the ability to create and generate simulated disturbances, or to import actual recorded disturbances from EMTP or COMTRADE files. |
